Chapitre 1: Bienvenue

Bueno, como parte de la introducción a mi pequeño mini fantástico curso básico de Francés (después de decidir de manera vaquera qué idioma elegiría para la clase) les traigo el trailer de mi película favorita en éste (derivado del latín) idioma.

El idioma francés (en francés: le français, la langue française) es una lengua romance hablada en todo el territorio de Francia metropolitana.  Se calcula que hay 200 millones de francófonos en el mundo, de los cuales 72 millones son hablantes parciales.

Au Revoir!

Third Class: Concepts

This time are some meanings that we will see here. Enjoy!

Memory: is an organism's ability to store, retain, and recall information and experiences.

Memory types: sensory memory, long-term and short-term.

Autonomous learning: is a school of education which sees learners as individuals who can and should be autonomous i.e. be responsible for their own learning climate. Autonomous education helps students develop their self-consciousness, vision, practicality and freedom of discussion. These attributes serve to aid the student in his/her independent learning.

Scaffolding: is the provision of sufficient support to promote learning when concepts and skills are being first introduced to students. These supports may include the following: Resources, a compelling task, templates and guides, guidance on the development of cognitive and social skills.

Generative grammar: In theoretical linguistics, generative grammar refers to a particular approach to the study of syntax. A generative grammar of a language attempts to give a set of rules that will correctly predict which combinations of words will form grammatical sentences. In most approaches to generative grammar, the rules will also predict the morphology of a sentence.

Competence: Competence (or competency) is the ability of an individual to perform a job properly. A competency is a set of defined behaviors that provide a structured guide enabling the identification, evaluation and development of the behaviors in individual employees.

Second class: Vygotsky, Lev Semenovich.

Well guys, this is the second homework (a little late), this time I only needed to read Chapter 3 of the book "Thought and language" of Vygotsky.

Abstract.

The intellectual conception of language development in children is the best known aspect of the work of Stern.

Stern distinguishes 3 roots of language: expressive trend, social and "intentional". While the first two underlie also support the foundations of speaking viewed on the animals, the third one is specifically of humankind.

In substance, such intentional acts are already acts of thought. Some of the modern cognitive psychologists emphasize the logical factor in the child's speech. Although Stern considers their emphasis on that factor excessive, he, nevertheless, fully endorses their orientation. He indicates a precise moment in speech development when "intentionality penetrates and supplies speech with its specifically human characteristics".

The trouble is that Stern regards intentionality, a trait of advanced speech that properly calls for a genetic explanation, as one of the roots of speech development, a driving force, an innate tendency, almost an urge, at any rate something primordial, on a par genetically with the expressive and the communicative tendencies which indeed are found at the very beginnings of speech. He substitutes an intellectualistic explanation for the genetic one.

This method of "explaining" a thing by the very thing that needs explaining is the basic flaw of all intellectualistic theories. Stern answers the question of why and how speech acquires meaning by saying: from the intentional tendency, i.e., the tendency toward meaning.

When small children are playing, they often keep up a running commentary on what is happening: “And now the train’s going round the tower, and it’s banging in to the tower, and – oh no – the tower’s toppling down…”. Vygotsky calls this an external monologue. As time goes on, the external monologue is internalized as thought.

The speech structures mastered by children therefore become the basic structures of their thinking.

First Class: The (un)real goal of UANL

Well guys, this is the first (and soon not the only one) post from this Homework Blog; I choose english language because... I have no time to learn another fancy language as Japanese, French or Russian.

Well, the first topic for now is, the mission of UANL.

UANL Mission
The mission of UANL is to form highly qualified
and globally competitive professionals,
researchers, professors and technicians, and
to perform basic and applied research which
solves regional and national problems, as well
as to foster the creation and preservation of
artistic and cultural expressions, with a strong
and permanent link between the Institution
and the community it serves.

UANL Vision 2012
Our vision synthesizes the aspiration and
institutional commitment to strengthening
the quality of education.

So, this is the Vision of UANL, maybe I can write my opinion down of all this... but I will don't.

Thank you for reading!
